Scope and Contents The collection is comprised of eight series: scrapbooks, member list books, minute books, guest books, correspondence, and yearly bulletins, programs, and Bulletin and Directories.

The collection represents only a portion of the materials from the history of the club, but represents a full range of their interests and activities. The scrapbooks act as an especially unique and complete source of the Music Club’s activities and membership.

Artists are organized into individual folders. Contracts and correspondence series is organized chronologically as is the Blues Week Series. The Business activity series is separated by business ventures and also contains some issues of the Gris Gris magazine.

Scope and Contents The collection includes 3,167 LPs, vinyl 12” record albums, contained in paper album covers. The bulk of the collection can be classified as jazz. Other genres in the collection are blues, soul, gospel, classical, popular, rock and roll, and big band. Included are a small number of spoken word LPs of speeches from important historical figures such as Rev. Martin Luther King and President John F. Kennedy; and some well-known comedy artists.
