Scope and Contents
The collection includes the monthly newsletter, Discoveries, put out in the late 70s and 80s by the Arts and Humanities Council of Baton Rouge as well as records pertaining to the creation and function of the organization from conception to present day. Included are booklets, by-laws, correspondence, brochures, event programs and maps, and materials relating to Art Block and Moving Forward EBR Schools.

Biographical / Historical
The Arts and Humanities Council of Greater Baton Rouge was established in 1973. The organization's mission is to foster community and economic growth by providing educational and fiscal opportunities in the arts. The Council serves 11 parishes including Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, Tangipahoa, Washington, West Feliciana, West Baton Rouge.

Collection is arranged in two series. Newsletters contain the volumes of the monthly Discoveries newsletter and the second series, Records, contains records relating to the history and activities of the organization from it's conception to present day.
